It has been a whirlwind of activity since the Birthday Ball. We barely had time to take off our fancy gowns, and the construction started! I insisted that we have no updated videos of the work going on at the shop; there was plenty of activity and moving parts with all the contractors!
They were more than capable of handling whatever challenges arose, but I wanted NO distractions for them. Besides, I’ve always had a flair for the dramatic and love the idea of the big reveal on opening day!
RE-OPENING -THURSDAY, NOV 6
The first day for clothing donations is Saturday, November 9, between 11 AM and 3:30 PM. No hangers or boxes, please! REMEMBER: Clothing donations on WED & SAT ONLY!
We’ve MISSED YOU! We wanna see your face; we want YOU to see our new space! This has been a long-awaited “face lift” for our facility – one that we dreamed of since before the pandemic…and more to come.
PHASE ONE included newly poured concrete for the deck & ramp, automated entry, a vestibule, new windows and doors (eliminating exterior door into the B Room), and in the rear of the building, blocking up the man-door in the transition room and the garage door (where shoes are stored off-season).
PHASE TWO will be the ADA bathroom and elevator (we have almost half the funding needed).
PHASE THREE will be the expanded mezzanine with two offices and a workforce development area. I’m working on grants already!
Let’s celebrate each step along the way!
PHASE ONE is DONE!
