november marks the beginning of the holiday season and it is a time of reflection and giving thanks! This past year has stretched us, challenged us and at times exhausted us – all of us!!
despite being closed for 2 weeks for flooring installation (pre-covid) and 9 weeks mandated shut-down for the pandemic, we continued to serve our clients through remote shopping (agencies emailed sizes and specific needs) and delivery by our staff or curbside pickup by caseworkers. We served military women, women who had been released from prison with the clothing on their backs and women in addiction recovery.
we reopened on may 19th following cdc guidelines, and we have continued to provide deeply discounted clothing in an affirming and safe environment. Women who never previously requested or needed assistance have shared their stories: losing jobs, salaries reduced and fear of their economic future. Some of our sassy seniors came to thf because it provided a safe and welcoming haven in the midst of social distancing and isolation. We are still a resource to women, particularly women in transition or crisis.
the reality is this: we could not have survived this storm without you!! financial donations from caring supporters through
when I prepared the budget for 2021 and crunched the numbers from 2020, you made the difference!! I am humbled and grateful beyond words!
thank you is so inadequate when we reflect on this past year – but it is heartfelt and sincere…
