| She came to the back door with a huge clothing donation and explained that her fiance’s mother had passed away. The matriarch. The heart of their home. The fashionista.
“We had to bring her things here. She loved this place!” There was no hesitation – no consultation – no searching the internet for an appropriate place to donate! Mama had dictated that Treasure House Fashions – “her store” – was to receive her clothing!
“She loved what you do! She loved to shop here. There was no question about what to do with her things, and she loved her clothing! She was a fashionista!”
I helped her carry in the bags, even as she shared that there would be more to come as they continued to process the estate.
“There were certain causes that she invested in and cared deeply about – this is one of them!”
This devoted soon-to-be daughter-in-law promised more clothing and a financial gift to further the mission of Treasure House. WHY? Because the family wants to honor their mom and what their mom loved!
Our House was her haven – for shopping, for community, for touching the lives of other women. This mama was a woman of impact, as well as fashion! At our House her generous spirit and love of fashion will continue to touch others…a living legacy!
