TWO AWESOME PARTNER AGENCIES:
Beth Dougherty, a board member for one of our partner agencies, POWER, is devoted to working with women in need (and an amazing vocalist)! She drafted gals from POWER to perform in a choir for their Purple Party…but could THF help them find purple outfits for the event?
OF COURSE!
The gals came on a Monday when we were closed to have full access to the store. They shopped all over for dresses, pants, scarves, jackets, tops in various shades of purple – patterns, flowers, designs – it didn’t matter as long as it was PURPLE!
At the event, these gals presented a heartfelt rendition of “This is Me” from The Greatest Showman. It was powerful and impactful – a dynamic statement of self-acceptance in the face of adversity and challenge! Well done, gals…and you looked maaarvelous!
SOJOURNER HOUSE, another partner agency, invited us to their signature fundraiser, the Victorian Tea, to receive the Pearl of Hope Award. THF has partnered with Sojourner House for 13 years. It’s been an honor to link arms in serving these women who are courageously reclaiming their lives from addiction. A particular client didn’t have appropriate attire for the special occasion—could THF provide an outfit? YES!
The gal came with her counselor and after a few questions about what she liked to wear or what she had in mind, we selected a few stunning dresses (a gal’s gotta have options!). One dress captured her heart but nothing is decided until coming out of the dressing room. The dress she loved was the perfect match in the fit, the feel and the fashion.
After we received our award at the Victorian Tea, this young lady sought us out to model her ensemble. She knew she belonged at this festive affair – her joyous expression beamed! The dress she loved looked fabulous – she felt fabulous, too!
