on thursday, may 23rd, treasure house fashions hosted a girls night out event for female vets, regrettably the least served demographic in our country! Veterans leadership program (vlp) and adagio health joined these brave women who were given gift certificates to select clothing for free, including attire for a national photo shoot initiative called “Iani – I am not invisible” to be held in pittsburgh on june 14th.
“Personal shoppers” from the community gently assisted selections and “Fussed” over these brave women as they scooped up fab fashions at our house. Mike harber, cameraman extraordinaire from kdka channel 2 news captured the event and interviewed some attendees (thanks for the hook up, kym gable!) the whole celebration was a perfect pre-memorial day tribute!!
many thanks to those who helped:
- saluting sponsor: pittsburgh golden triangle executives association
- chow sponsor: jason’s deli (what yummy refreshments – especially the strawberry shortcake!)
- loyal sponsors: mars bank and scopewell llc
- gift certificates: luanne brindle, arlene kelly, steve laudenberg
- “Personal shoppers” who “Fussed” over our military gals
- tracy kincaid who faithfully serves at all our gno events
special thanks to all military women…….Especially those who attended this event!!
As we approach memorial day, this is a perfect time to pause and express our deep appreciation to military personnel everywhere! We are grateful for your commitment and sacrifice, and we salute you!! That’s women helping women!
that’s women appreciating all our service people – women men! Thank you!! You are not invisible to us!!
Founder and Executive Director of Treasure House Fashions In 2000, after navigating through a divorce and “inheriting” over $200,000… worth of debt, Sally purchased a retail store to augment her income. The rest is history and she drafted other like-minded women to walk alongside me responding to a need – tangibly “affirming the treasure” within women navigating challenging journeys.
