Tell me how I look! visually impaired group bags bargains!

halfway through bag sale, the friendship group, adult women with varying degrees of visual impairment, came to our shop for a girls time out – a private “Assisted” bag sale experience. We gathered “Personal shoppers” to gently guide the fashion selections, to describe the colors and to facilitate trying on the selections. Of course, there were raving compliments of how fabulous these women looked, as their “Personal shoppers” described how the outfit coordinated and flattered the friendship group shopper.

these ladies were most appreciative of the tender support provided by our “Personal shopper” volunteers. Can you imagine trying to put together an ensemble without being able to see the colors and fit? Thanks to all the ladies who volunteered!

we love all of our volunteers and could never accomplish our mission without their generous time, talent and dedication to helping women, particularly women in transition or crisis! Most of our ladies sign up for 2-4 hour shifts at our shop once a week, twice a month or once a month to do the following:

  • steam merchandise
  • stock and maintain racks of merchandise
  • assist customers/agency clients with selections
  • run the register (when trained)
  • process purses, shoes and scarves (backroom)

we “Fuss” over the details because we believe all the women who grace our doors are worth the extra effort! We often say “It takes a village” to run our operation – there’s lots to do but many hands make work light! If you love serving, enjoy fashion and want to contribute to a meaningful mission, join us! We’d love to welcome you into our treasure house family!

please use our form to contact our volunteer coordinator cindy to get more information about volunteering!

volunteering is good for you – and us!!
